Cruise is leading the future of transportation creating the first driverless ride hail service. A vast array of hi-tech components power the Cruise autonomous vehicle, but nothing is more crucial than the compute module. This state-of-the-art module acts as the heart and brains of the vehicle and provides the computing and networking needs for the operation of the AV. As part of the team developing the next-generation compute module, you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the latest technology and contribute to the future of transportation. We are looking for an individual to lead the team of outstanding engineers that are building Cruise’s cutting-edge hardware. As a Verification Manager on this team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and testing of the compute module, ensuring robustness of the design and function through a broad range of conditions and environments. You will be involved from inception, planning, and design, all the way to mass production, working to ensure that the product meets the stringent safety, security, and reliability requirements for autonomous vehicles. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Manage team of engineers and oversee the execution of hardware validation and performance testing ensuring program success. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Thermal, Mechanical, Software, Safety) to translate product needs into clear technical scopes and test requirements for your teams. Improving engineering productivity through testing strategy and execution, automation, and enabling processes, and collaboration and coordination. Lead hardware validation and performance characterization by developing and executing comprehensive test plans. Track validation progress, present data, and represent status at design reviews. Plan and budget lab equipment needs to ensure we have the capability to measure and debug systems, boards, interfaces, and components. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and root cause issues found to closure. Report findings to improve hardware design and testing processes. Work with internal SW teams to develop tools to test SoC, memory, and subsystem electrical performance. Work with Tier1/OEM/Suppliers to ensure they maintain the highest standards and meet deliverables. You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field. 15+ years of experience working on complex compute hardware system development across entire product life cycles. 5+ years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., technical leadership or people management, supervision, or team leadership). Strong knowledge in EE fundamentals, power & signal integrity, and analog/digital circuits. Experience across several electrical engineering domains, including: SoC, memory, high-speed interfaces, and power. Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, signal generator, electronic load, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzers, VNA’s, and thermal/heat chambers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and engage engineers and executives. Automotive industry experience, particularly in ASIL B/D Validation. Experience in GMW, USCAR standards. Experience in Reliability, HALT, and other relevant test processes. The salary range for this position is $180,300 - $265,100. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
