The candidate for this position will be responsible for all agency and regulatory-related items on the cooking appliances team for the North American market. Core focus areas include regulatory strategy, compliance, test standards, product design, root cause failure analysis, and product planning to comply with current and upcoming regulations . Essential Job Responsibilit iesBe the agency expert in the category – including product certification compliance procedures, product and component testing, Dept. of Energy Energy Star testing and requirements, e tc.Participate in AHAM committees as an active, voting member representing Midea best interest and be aligned to support the overall product strategy and product divisi on.Assist product planning with expertise in regulatory federal and state law. Understanding of differences between various state and federal requirements, and train and coach design teams in both US and in China to understand and assist in delivering compliant products into the US.Manage all third-party agency audit testing for cooking produc ts.Manage the overall product compliance aspect– including being the expert related to applicable safety standards and requirements, including and not limited to UL-858, CSA 2 1.1Assist other engineers with design-related issues problem solvi ng.Assist new product field tests – assisting with safety compliance requirements, planning, and overall executi on.Review product literature, packaging, rating labels, etc. for product compliance and ensuring product meets various agency requiremen ts.Assist product team with competitive analysis/teardowns and market research to gain insights, ensuring product plan and overall strategy is updated per the market tren ds.Other duties as assign e d. Qualificat ionsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree prefer red.Preferably being an existing/former AHAM, HVI, UL / CSA Working or Review group member, familiar with the products (Appliances Category or other durable goods), procedures, and standa rds.Detailed component and system design experience with product categor ies.Must have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the related fi eld.Must have excellent verbal and written communication ski lls.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Su ite.Gas and Electric Home Cooking appliances experience is prefer red.Occasional international travel (about 15%), frequent domestic travel (about 2 5%).
