Job Summary The Automation Engineer (Electrical Focus) will be a key member of our advanced manufacturing team, tasked with designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems across our facilities. In collaboration with our Mechanical and Software Engineers, this role will focus on integrating advanced electrical and control systems to eliminate manual inefficiencies, support complex automation equipment, and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. Essential Job Functions: Design & Development: Design and implement control systems, electrical layouts, and automation frameworks to improve equipment functionality, reduce labor dependency, and ensure high-quality production output. System Integration: Work closely with Mechanical and Software Engineers to integrate electrical and control elements with mechanical systems and software interfaces, ensuring smooth, cohesive automation operations. Programming & Configuration : Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and other control equipment using relevant programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, C++), aligning with project requirements and industry standards. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical and control system issues, performing maintenance and calibrations as needed to ensure minimal production downtime. Project Management: Lead and coordinate automation projects, from initial concept and scope to final implementation, aligning with timelines and budget constraints. Continuous Improvement: Analyze current processes to identify automation opportunities, proposing solutions that optimize efficiency, enhance accuracy, and reduce costs. Documentation & Compliance: Develop comprehensive documentation for system designs, technical specifications, and operating procedures. Ensure all systems comply with safety and regulatory standards. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Experience in automation, electrical engineering, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.). Experience with HMI design and configuration. Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, circuit design, and motor controls. Familiarity with robotics and integration of mechanical, software, and control components. Understanding of CAD software for electrical layout design.
