Maintenance Plumber Location: St. Louis, MO Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm Salary: $77K Employment Type: Direct Hire Benefits : Insurance (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability) and 401(k) Qualifications: At minimum, a high school diploma or GED coupled with experience in a commercial plumbing setting. Plumbers License in the state of Missouri. Valid Journeyman Plumber license required or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Master Plumber license (unrestricted) preferred, or the ability to obtain within 90 days. Backflow Prevention certification is a plus. Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must have the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The employee must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment will require on-call rotation. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices, such as respirators, masks, goggles, and/or gloves Responsibilities: Responsible for the assembly, installations, modifications, and reparations of all pipes and plumbing systems. Studies building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment to determine work aids required, and sequence of installations. Reports and records work order details, to include time taken to perform repairs, and material consumed. Provides Work Order documentation to the NCMMS Productional Clerk and the end of each shift. Locates and/or marks position of pipe and pipe connections, cuts openings for passage holes of pipes in walls and floors, uses rulers, shop mathematics, levels, plumb bobs and hand tools or power tools. Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine. Opens clogged drains with augers or hydrostatic equipment. Operates hoists, holders, and pulleys when removing heavy units such as large plumbing fixtures and valves of all types. Use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to identify chemical characteristics. Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs. Assists with material and labor estimates. Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on all plumbing-related equipment. Other responsibilities include. but are not limited to, installing and/or repairing various plumbing equipment (water heaters, drinking fountains, toilets, sinks, etc.) throughout the facility.
