Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe primary role of the MPI Engineer is to implement and lead standardization & continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, service, quality and cost. This position will have a focus on manufacturing process improvement. Incumbent will provide fundamental process engineering support with common interaction and support at the plants.WHAT YOU GET TO DOImplementation of standardization initiativesParticipate in continuous improvement projects to achieve business objectives including participation in teams within the business and functional areasAssist in generating reporting tools and progress reporting for assigned business areaSupport the efforts of other engineers as necessarySupport the efforts of Plant Engineering and Plant Departments in associated projects and teamsCommunicate the status of CI projects, including: progress reports, identifying barriers and recommended solutions, integration with other projects or other CI initiativesTraining of team members and shop floor employeesPartner in analyzing/recommending changes in technology to improve safety, service, quality and costResponsible for execution of assigned CI projects; also responsible for identifying projects that may lead to improved safety, service, quality and costDevelop an understanding of process standards such as: start-up and shut-down, troubleshooting techniques, machine standard operating conditions, QA standardsUnderstand and support the WCOM methodology in all project and teams assignedProjects as assignedDevelop process expertise in 1-2 manufacturing processesAble to generate and implement critical manufacturing technology standards for equipmentAble to generate and implement critical operational methods or standard work for process engineers and operators to followAttainment of KPI goals, cost savings, etc. as defined by plant operational efficiencies and outputWHAT WE VALUEResults orientationCollaborative relationshipsCommunication skills - written/oralAnalytical skills/problem solvingBusiness AcumenChange and Thought LeadershipCritical thinking & Conflict resolutionWHAT WE WANT FROM YOU1-3 years professional experience in a manufacturing organizationBachelor's degree or relevant experience required, engineering or industrial technology preferredFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing verbiage, process, tools, etc.Training and experience in Lean methodologies.
