API TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY
Responsible for the performing of external and internal inspections of stationary equipment. Also responsible giving and reviewing repair recommendations to unit maintenance and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform API inspections to provide predictive and preventive recommendations
Collection of visual data
Conduct periodic field audits
Perform UT and PT inspections as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Trade School or Technical College Diploma preferred. Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training in a petrochemical/ industrial field performing API inspections. Working knowledge of pressure vessels, tanks and piping. Possess 2 API certifications and obtain 3rd certification within 1 year of hire in date.
Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows environment with experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
