Description: The University of Illinois Chicago Office of the Vice Chancellor for Advancement is seeking development professionals who are dynamic and results-oriented to join our team as either an Associate Director or Director of Development based on experience and qualifications. Both roles will be pivotal in driving fundraising efforts and building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping us achieve our fundraising goals and expand our impact in the community. Opportunities exist in the following Colleges: Business, Pharmacy, Law, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Athletics, and the School of Public Health. Duties: Actively manage a portfolio of major and planned gift donors rated $25,000 and above, employing appropriate strategies and tactics in prospect and portfolio management. Identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit alumni and friends in support of unit and University priorities. Meet or exceed annual performance metrics, including approximately 120 visits per year with UIC alumni and donors to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift donations. Collaborate with the dean, department heads, faculty and other key partners across Advancement and unit to build a compelling case for support. Present the unit's funding opportunities articulately, persuasively, and with confidence. Prepare and present proposals to prospects and donors, working with central communications and donor relations when appropriate. Partner with unit leadership, Advancement colleagues, faculty, and volunteers to develop and promote compelling engagement opportunities and relationships with assigned prospects to maximize their financial support of the unit's fundraising priorities. Facilitate and coordinate all communications with assigned prospects and among prospects' University relationships. Track development activity and donor interactions by entering key interactions and strategies into the fundraising database. Work closely with director of portfolio management and researchers to review alumni/donor lists in order to identify donor prospects. Assist with the preparation of unit-based events and participate in unit- and University-wide events at which alumni, friends, donors and/or prospects are present. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or a foreign equivalent. Minimum 3 years professional experience in development or related field. Proven success in securing and conducting face-to-face meetings to build and grow relationships. The ability, credibility, and capacity to build and sustain effective relationships and partnerships with colleagues and constituencies that are integral to success in the role. Excellent writing, communication, presentation, business development, organization and computer/PC skills are required. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong database skills.
