Overview: St. Joseph’s Medical Center – Residency Program Director Somnia is seeking a full-time director for the residency program. The Anesthesia Residency program started in July 2021 with 10 total Residents (4 PGY2/CA1 and 6 PGY1) and with approval for an additional 6 new Residents annually up to 24 total in the program. Residency subspecialty training currently available at St. Joseph’s include cardiac, obstetrics, critical care, acute and chronic pain, and pediatrics. Compensation: $575,000 annual compensation Residency Program Director Stipend $75,000 Core faculty Stipend $25,000 Up to $3,000 annually for CME 10 weeks paid time off $50,000 commencement bonus Up to $10,000 relocation allowance 401(k) | Flexible spending accounts Medical professional liability insurance Paid time off | CME Protected time weekly for director responsibilities Responsibilities: Direction of the anesthesiology residency program to ensure each resident receives the training outlined in the program description. Provide evidence of progressive and increasing supervised responsibility by the resident as his/her training progresses. Arrangement of formal affiliation agreements and/or outside rotations necessary to meet the basic standards or enhance training to meet program objectives. Evaluations from the individual responsible at the affiliated training site must be included in the program director's annual report of each resident. Weekly schedule of .6 FTE (3 days) clinical/teaching, and .4 FTE (2 days) protected time per ACGME. Qualifications: Practice anesthesia for at least five (5) years or three (3) years full time with an anesthesiology residency program. Certification by the ACGME through to ABA and recertified within the prescribed time frame of the certifying body. ACLS | BLS. Anesthesia leadership experience. The annual anesthesia case volume is approx. 14,300 cases, consisting of ~9,000 surgical cases, 2,500 obstetrics cases, 800 cardiac cases, and 2,000 out-of-OR cases in GI, cath lab, and interventional radiology.
