Division Chief of Cardiology- Creighton/CHI Health
CHI Health Clinic and Creighton University School of Medicine are recruiting a Division Chief of Cardiology to be part of our vibrant program and expand our clinical enterprise, research, and educational activities in conjunction with our CHI Health Heart and Vascular Institute and the Department of Internal Medicine.
We seek a Division Chief who has a demonstrated commitment to steady innovative clinical practice growth, education and science, the ability to lead a diverse group and work collaboratively with hospital partners, success in promoting education and the ability to mentor young clinical and academic clinicians. Successful candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership, administrative and organizational skills and have an MD or equivalent degree.
Our CHI Health Heart & Vascular Institute, centered at the Creighton University Medical Center, is one of the nations highest quality, award winning heart programs. We are a designated TAVR Center with a high procedure volume and outstanding outcomes. Supported by a highly ranked team of Non Invasive, Interventional, Advanced Heart Failure, and Electrophysiology cardiologists, Our Heart & Vascular Institute is part of our integrated, multispecialty system, working with every member of the cardiovascular medicine team committed to the highest outcome of every procedure we perform. Resident and fellowship activity is primarily located at our academic health hospital, Creighton University Medical Center(CUMC), where our Level I Trauma Center is located. The division chief will report to CHI Health Physician Enterprise Vice President Medical Operation & Chief Medical Officer for clinical and medical operations and will work in a dyad partnership with CHI Health PE Administrative Director. Candidates are expected to have clinical and leadership experience and ideally academic activities commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities
- Patient Care:
- Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Provide clear and concise medical information.
- Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
- Diagnostic Procedures:
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
- Perform procedures as needed
- Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
- Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
- Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
- Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
- Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
- Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
- Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
- American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
- A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
Pay Range
$331.00 - $331.00 /hour
