Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance Role
As the Director of Finance, you will:
Oversee full-cycle month-end close processes, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger reconciliations.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for stakeholders.
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating closely with program managers to assess and address budgetary needs.
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
Oversee grant management and ensure proper allocation and compliance for donor contributions.
Support annual audit and tax preparation processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Qualifications for the Director of Finance Role
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred).
A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
Experience in the nonprofit sector (preferred but not required).
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
