Our

FHA Finance experts

work with borrowers to obtain a HUD-insured loan on multifamily and senior housing properties. The department is comprised of production and underwriting staff. The production staff is in a sales role working with clients to originate loan opportunities. Once a loan is engaged, the underwriting staff works with the client to prepare an application to HUD and identify strengths and weaknesses of a loan, putting appropriate mitigants into place. Once the application is submitted, the W&D FHA Team works closely with HUD staff as they review the application, issue a commitment to insure and ultimately close the loan. W&D is the #2 overall HUD lender in FY 2024.

The Impact You Will Have

The Analyst will prepare sizing loans, preliminary underwriting analysis and gathering/organizing due diligence for loans related to FHA Finance. The Analyst will support HUD Production teams with administrative needs, business analytics, and special projects. The position demands an elevated level of customer service and excellent communication skills, as well as a great attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities Manages and collects borrower documentation. Prepares written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information Responsible for scheduling and managing meetings, including creating and running routine and non-routine reports out of Salesforce Assist in reviewing third party reports such as appraisals, market studies, engineering reports Assist producer in marketing, lead generation and cross-selling initiatives. Maintain deal and client information in Salesforce Handles confidential and non-routine information, exercising discretion in interpreting and explaining policies as necessary Prepare and present loan quote sizers and necessary due diligence information for each property loan request received Maintain Box and Salesforce entries for all active deals at least once per week Participate in Kick-Off Meetings with Walker & Dunlop producer, underwriter, closer and client for all loans under application Serve as a liaison between Underwriting, closing, and production throughout the underwriting and closing process Make recommendations to the producer regarding loan proposals and will participate in the initial underwriting process Work with marketing to proactively identify and assemble deal information for use by marketing to prepare press releases Prepares expense reports monthly Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travel Responsible for other projects and assignments as needed Attendance is generally 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent experience strongly preferred 3-5 years of experience in finance or related field Experience working in a corporate environment a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have a working knowledge of multifamily, affordable a plus Experience with the Underwriting process is a plus Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills and presentation ability An energetic, efficient and resourceful team player and individual contributor Excellent attention to detail, accuracy of information, judgment, and dependability, including the ability to meet deadlines. Candidate must have strong business knowledge and ability to prioritize work as well as to find solutions to various administrative problems. Candidate must independently negotiate and resolve various time-sensitive and administrative concerns on a regular basis. Candidate must possess high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Strong customer service skills Strong organization skills; must be able to manage multiple priorities Ability to accurately and productively handle multiple tasks during time sensitive situations Strong working ability with Salesforce, Box and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders This position has an estimated base salary of $60,000 - $65,000 plus discretionary production incentives. An employment offer is based on the applicant's relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
