Overview: The Painter will prepare surfaces and applies paint, varnish, stain, wallpaper and coatings to help beautify and protect exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures to preserve buildings, equipment, midways and rides. Salary Details: $22.50/hr. Responsibilities: Read blueprints and drawings of the project and structures for the execution of assigned job. Order paint supplies and materials. Complete job as per direction/specification. Clean up job site after work and return equipment and tools. Apply paint, vinyl and wallpaper including special papers and fabrics to walls, furniture and structures. Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes. Remove previous paint by means of sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning. Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of the appropriate materials. Apply wood finishing by suitably preparing surface. Determine, cut and apply wallpaper or fabric to walls as requested. Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines. Operate and maintain spray machines. Maintain records and logs of product used and time spent; submit finished work orders to supervisor. Maintain logs of Volatile Organic Compound and spray volume. Operate and maintain various power and manual hand tools. Check with management and work order system for days assignments and priorities. Check assigned areas and touch up all paint as needed on all buildings, structures, carts, and signs. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Vocational/technical training preferably in paint and coatings application, or a related field. At least 4-6 years of prior industrial, commercial painting experience. Valid drivers license. Ability to read color charts and mix paints with automated paint mixer. Must be able to follow compound specifications for mixing of paints. Prior experience reading blueprints, drawings, technical specifications and material data sheets in the successful completion of assigned painting task.
