Electrician - Skilled Requisition ID 2024-13956 Location US-RI-North Kingstown Seat Location EB Quonset Point Facility Trade Building Trades Shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd Security Clearance Required Approved Background Check Number of Openings 15 Overview General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking skilled electricians to join our North Kingstown, RI team Become a part of the team at Electric Boat, where we take pride in building the worlds' most advanced submarines Some of the Benefits we provide to you include: Paid Training Medical, Dental, Vision Prescription coverage 401K plan Paid vacation and holidays Shift Differential for 2nd and 3rd shift Health and Wellness Programs Commuter/Van Services/Ripta Tuition Reimbursement Program Safety Boot Reimbursement Program Professional Development and Advancement Opportunities Electrician Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:: Fabricate and install wire-way hangers, stud shooting, install bulkhead stuffing tubes and various sizes and types of cables for lighting, communications, control, power, electronics, nuclear and weapons systems Installation of components (terminal boxes, switches, controllers, wiring harnesses, cabinets etc.) for the various electrical systems Install main power switchboards and electrical nuclear equipment, cut in and hookup cables for installed components and installation and hook-up of ship's lighting Install / build and test fiber optic systems No electrical license required. This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or formal electrical training Ability to frequently carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull more than 25 lbs. Available to work all shifts Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools Preferred: Electrical/electronics trade experience or training Ability to interpret electrical and shipyard procedures, electrical schematics, blueprint, technical manuals, test documents and diagrams Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs Military/Navy experience Skills Must possess proficient, communication and interpersonal skills Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals Physical Qualifications Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily Join our talent pools, get job alerts, and see EB news We can recommend jobs specifically for you Click here to get started.
