Data Scientist (Senior ) Duration: 5 years Location: Washington DC - Local resources preferred - Hybrid/Remote Client: Federal Pay rate: Market/Flexible Should be clearable Resources from earlier DOJ exp. are preferred Data scientists (Senior)roles -They would need Tableau Prep builder experience in addition to Tableau, SAS, Python and SQL . (Even though AWS is written but that's all-background system) Data scientists should have Advanced knowledge of data modeling, data mining, data cleansing , segmentation, and pattern recognition techniques Job descriptions The Data Scientist shall have experience serving as a data scientist on a complex technology implementation or data analytics projects. Ability to lead larger teams and mentor other scientists. The Data Scientist shall have strong expertise in applying pattern-recognition techniques to large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets to automate and optimize data wrangling (extract, transform, clean, evaluate, normalize/standardize, and organize) from disparate sources. Technical expertise with data models, data mining, data cleansing, and segmentation techniques. Experience developing databases with Structure Query Language (SQL) to develop complex queries involving joins, subqueries, aggregation, indices, common table expressions, and query optimization/plans. Development experience, with a focus on data manipulation and/or statistics, using one or more of these languages or applications: Python, R, SAS, Tableau, AWS. The Data Scientist shall have proficient experience in both small and big data environments with an understanding of the tradeoffs in scaling algorithms between differing environments. Conducts and facilitates (and educates and trains on) analyses, issues identification, risk assessment, and decision-making processes. The Data Scientist is expected to design, develop, and implement best available models and solutions to agency challenges and requirements. Prepares data, implements data models, and develops data management tools including databases to support end-to-end solutions. The individual is expected to have working knowledge of federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration. Must be detail-oriented and think logically. Possesses excellent problem solving and analytical skills and excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills. Possesses the ability to keep up with new business and technical concepts. Able to work with minimal supervision. Possesses strong team leadership and risk management ability. The Data Scientist (Senior) must have a minimum of: Seven (7) years of professional experience planning, conducting, and participating in the facets of performance requirements and the experiences described above. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Substitution Criteria: 10 years of relevant experience with planning, conducting, and participating in the experiences described above and in the performance requirements. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
