The Business Technology - GIS Center of Excellence (GIS COE) department has responsibility for maintaining and operating IT applications in GIS to support Gas, Electric, Power Generation, IT Fiber, and other functional areas while also delivering IT projects and solutions in support of their business goals and priorities. Position Summary This Principal Program Manager will be instrumental in managing the Elevate Program Plan to ensure alignment with strategic business goals and dependent programs. The successful candidate will manage the business case; collaborate with our System Integrator to develop and manage the schedule, budget, and resource plan (including change control and risk management); orchestrate program activities; apply and champion PG&E's Lean practices and breakthrough thinking; and handle/participate in program engagements (such as workshops, demos, roadshows, conferences, benchmarking, etc.). This high-profile position will be integral to all PMO activities and will work closely with our Change Management Office, Value Management Office, Dependency Management Office and the entire Business and IT core team. This individual must be a self-starter; a strategic thinker; execution-oriented; highly organized with attention to detail; highly motivated by working with cross-functional teams; and thrives in leading teams at the intersection of Strategy, Operations, and Technology. In addition, the individual must possess a track record of leading or supporting complex initiatives that demonstrates strong tactical and problem-solving skills with measurable results and in-service of stakeholders and customers. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00 Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00 California Minimum: $133,000.00 California Maximum: $226,000.00 Job Responsibilities Lead large GIS programs that may exceed $100M annually Leads schedule planning, budget planning, vendor management, and resource planning efforts Applies critical thinking to address program challenges to achieve program goals Manages time architecture and lean operating structure including developing reports, presentations, and dashboards that succinctly communicate program status and health Anticipates program challenges and bottlenecks and is resourceful at developing and implementing innovative solutions Represents the program as a subject matter expert Provide General Rate Case (GRC) data request response support Develop materials and status for stakeholders, management, and Senior Leadership up to C suite and Board of Directors Plans Officer-level engagement events and other significant events Participates in benchmarking efforts including industry sessions and conferences to learn/share best in class practices Coaches and mentors less experienced co-workers Intermittently supervise coworkers to support the execution of the program Oversees the onboarding process to ensure new team members are set up for success Leads or participates in Enterprise Project/Program Governance requirements Works autonomously and proactively without significant oversight or direction May manage major cross-functional special assignments Brings an enthusiastic commitment at guiding teams on continuous improvement journeys Enthusiastically develops resilient, talented teams with a focus on alignment between strategy, planning, and execution Assess project performance and implement changes as necessary to ensure the projects remains within specified cost, schedule, scope, and quality objectives Provide direction and leadership to Product Owners, Project Managers, Technical Leads, Scrum Masters, Project Management Analysts, Test Leads, and Schedulers Accurately and consistently forecasting project resource, material, and costs within standard PG&E tools Monitor critical project milestones and identify ways to resolve schedule issues Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and high complexity Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 10 years job-related experience or equivalent Desired: 10 years Esri GIS Technology experience Advanced Proficiency in ArcGIS 9.x or later 5 years Electric and or Gas Utility experience 10 years IT Project/Program Management experience Experience in leading utility implementation of Esri GIS Esri GIS implementation of 2,000 users Enterprise level deployments of GIS 3 years of managing and being accountable for budgets exceeding $100M History of regularly interfacing with/presenting to C suite Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences Both Commercial Cloud and on-premise deployment experience Complex cross functional deployment experience with strong dependencies on other major programs Direct leadership experience (5 direct reports) Master's degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience featuredjob
