Salary: $56,160.00 - $73,008.00 Annually Location : Asheboro, NC Job Type: Full-time Job Number: 00420 Department: President's Office Opening Date: 11/19/2024 General Job Description The Director of Marketing and Communications oversees the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the college's marketing, communications, and public relations strategies. This role includes managing the Office of College Marketing to ensure the promotion of RCC 2.0 in heightening our Relevance, focusing on Careers, and deepening our Commitment. This position also plays a crucial role in communicating our Strategic Plan priorities of Access, Connections, Experience, and Success (ACES) to internal and external stakeholders. Duties • Develop and implement the college's integrated marketing strategies. • Design and execute a comprehensive public relations program to enhance the college's image and community presence. • Create and manage informative, engaging, and motivational digital marketing campaigns using different digital platforms including social media, newsletters, and push notifications. • Oversee and optimize the college's website and ensure its effectiveness and increase online traffic. • Conduct regular audits for social media and website marketing performance. • Develop short-term and long-term goals for marketing strategies and regularly evaluate their effectiveness. • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all college communications and publications, both internal and external, in alignment with the college's mission and vision. • Provide strategic direction for all marketing, branding, photography, and publication efforts. • Partner with administrators, departments, and programs to align marketing plans with college priorities for optimal outreach and engagement. • Lead crisis communications, including public information releases, emergency closings, and unexpected events. • Draft internal and external communications for the college President and other senior administrators on an as-needed basis. • Maintain strong relationships with media representatives, ensuring targeted media outreach that supports college initiatives. • Oversee vendor contracts regarding marketing and communication programs, including negotiating and coordinating Request for Quotes (RFQs) as needed. • Serve as a liaison between faculty and staff experts and media or community influencers, facilitating connections and promoting subject matter expertise when opportunities arise. • Develop and administer the marketing budget, optimizing spending for maximum short and long-term impact. • Lead public information processes related to legislative requirements and external requests. • Oversee the internal printshop, providing color printing services to departments and groups on campus. • Consult with the college facilities department on internal and external signage to follow a consistent style across all college locations. • Supervise employees within the Office of College Marketing. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required and Preferred Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. • Minimum of five years of demonstrated success in leading marketing and branding efforts across both digital and traditional media. • Proven supervisory experience. • Strong knowledge of social media, digital content management, marketing, advertising, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and media relations. • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred: • Master's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. • At least eight years of experience in leading marketing efforts, across both digital and traditional media. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). • Video editing experience. • Experience in marketing research, web metrics, and data-driven decision-making. • Proficiency in web content management systems (CMS). • Experience in a higher education environment.
