The RN utilizes nursing trends, technology, and resources within the philosophy of the institution. Essential responsibilities include:- Performing all duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service.- Implementing procedures and theories related to the area of practice.- Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.- Completing initial assessments upon patient admission and developing appropriate care plans.- Implementing care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.- Modifying care plans based on continuous evaluation.- Reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents for patient and employee safety.- Communicating effectively to resolve issues and offering feedback for professional development of peers.- Identifying personal learning needs and taking initiative for solutions.- Fulfilling all departmental competency requirements. Department Specific Functions: - Conducting complete patient assessments and documenting data accurately.- Recognizing normal and abnormal findings and notifying physicians as appropriate.- Establishing plans of care and setting treatment goals.- Establishing IVs on patients over 8 years of age and practicing the 5 rights of medication administration.- Participating in the 'time-out' process with OR staff.Please ensure all the requirements, licenses, and certifications are met before applying for this position.
