Position Summary:

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise Microsoft SQL Server databases, including advanced cloud-based data systems and analytics. Key responsibilities include overseeing databases tied to high-profile applications, such as Ellucian's Colleague ERP, Microsoft Azure Synapse for data warehousing and analytics, and Data Factory for ETL processes, ensuring security compliance with PCI, HIPAA, FERPA, and other institutional and industry standards. The senior database administrator leads the development, maintenance, and support of CWI's data warehouse and data integration solutions across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

Essential Functions: •Manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft SQL Server environments, including configurations, security, and integration with applications. •Lead the administration and support of Microsoft Azure Synapse for modern data warehousing, supporting analytics and BI requirements. •Oversee Azure Data Factory for ETL processes, managing data pipelines, transformations, and external data integrations. •Develop, implement, and optimize SQL backup and recovery policies, ensuring data integrity and reliability. •Maximize database uptime and performance through system monitoring, tuning, index maintenance, file compression, statistical updates, and integrity checks. •Design, maintain, and document CWI's data warehouse architecture and manage ETL processes within Azure and on-premises environments. •Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with regulatory standards. •Participate in disaster recovery, capacity planning, and cloud migration projects. •Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to align database and data warehouse strategies with enterprise goals. •Support enterprise applications that rely on data services. This includes helping to maintain and troubleshoot enterprise applications. •Support Agile-based project planning for database and data warehouse initiatives. •Develop and maintain architectural documentation for databases, data warehouses, and associated cloud solutions.

Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience. •Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and later) installation, security, and configuration. •Proven expertise in T-SQL development. •Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and cloud-based data warehousing solutions. •Proficiency in database security, user access management, and compliance standards. •Experience with Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, and Power BI for reporting and analytics. •Advanced knowledge of DTS/SSIS packages, and experience with job scheduling and automation tools. •Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. •Prior experience with Ellucian Colleague or similar ERP systems preferred. •Familiarity with Agile project methodologies.
