Job Description
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and organized management of HVAC parts, tools, and equipment. The role involves managing inventory, coordinating deliveries and ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols. The Warehouse Manager plays a crucial role in supporting HVAC project execution, ensuring that all necessary materials and tools are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory of HVAC equipment, parts, tools, and materials.
- Implement and oversee inventory tracking systems for stock control and management.
o Input inventory into spreadsheet when it arrives
o Notify project manager or appropriate team member that the item(s) has arrived
o Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits
o Input inventory into spreadsheet when it departs the warehouse
2. Receiving and Distribution:
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Organize and label all materials for easy access and identification.
- Coordinate with company drivers(s) for distribution of HVAC parts, tools, and equipment to job sites.
Coordinate deliveries and pickups with drivers, ensuring all schedules are met.
3. Warehouse Organization:
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of HVAC equipment and materials to prevent damage.
- Follow warehouse layout instructions for maximum efficiency and space utilization.
- Follow system for efficient tool and equipment tracking and return.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations in the warehouse.
- Develop and enforce warehouse safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Manage equipment maintenance and ensure all tools are in safe working condition.
6. Project Support:
- Ensure timely availability of materials and tools for on-site installations and repairs.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for HVAC equipment transport to job sites.
- Address any issues related to materials or tools that could affect project timelines.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate reports on inventory levels and stock usage
- Maintain documentation related to inventory receipts, orders, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role, preferably in HVAC or mechanical contracting.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehousing, and distribution systems.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong leadership and team skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC parts, equipment, and materials is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Valid forklift operator certification (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
