Warehouse Supervisor Job at Quality Services Moving in Lorton

Award-winning multi-location and veteran-owned relocation company headquartered in Lorton, VA seeks full-time Warehouse Supervisor with excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage and account for all warehouse activities. Must be a self-starter who can also motivate others. Our fast operational tempo may at times also require the Warehouse Supervisor’s active participation in receiving inbound and preparing outbound household goods shipments. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provides a safe and clean working environment for all personnel entering the warehouse
• Accurately accounts for all warehouse inventory and maintains applicable records documenting all items associated with each shipment
• Assigns workspace and jobs to specific load crews to ensure the most efficient movement of inbound, outbound, temporary, and non-temporary storage of property
• Operates and maintains forklifts as specified by the manufacturer and ensures forklift drivers are trained to safely operate the equipment
• Repairs, salvages or constructs crates as required and administers master crate numbering system
• Upholds cleanliness, order, safety, and accountability standards in warehouse and keeps necessary records for compliance purposes
• Assesses warehouse capacity, provides forecasts concerning space, and recommends additional warehouse/equipment needs to accommodate operational demands
• Oversees warehouse personnel to verify items are properly protected, inventoried, and stored according to established procedures
• Tracks hours worked by all warehouse personnel to ensure profitability
• The ability to work quickly while directing others and maintaining order and accountability is essential. Position requires 2+ years of warehouse management experience, a valid driver’s license, and demonstrated forklift experience.
• Prior experience in the Household Goods industry is preferred!
