Summary: At Overture Promotions, we believe our people are our greatest asset. We are seeking an experienced corporate recruiter to join our HR team and assist in identifying and hiring top talent. The ideal candidate will have a background in recruiting or human resources, with strong knowledge of hiring and onboarding practices. This position reports directly to the VP of Human Resources and requires full-time, on-site presence at our headquarters in Waukegan, IL, five days a week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages all stages of the recruitment process to build a strong candidate pipeline.
- Partners with the HR team to develop recruitment processes, strategies, and communication, including helping select and implement an ATS, as well as creating job and interview guides for company roles.
- Collaborate with department managers to understand hiring needs for each position, identifying accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifies and applies effective recruiting methods and strategies based on each role, industry standards, and organizational needs.
- Assists with posting job openings and advertising positions.
- Screens resumes and candidates, conduct interviews, and manages candidate flow from the initial interview through to the final offer and negotiation.
- Perform reference checks and background screenings as needed.
- Schedules interviews and prepare interview questions and other hiring materials.
- Assists in the interview process, conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders when necessary.
- Builds and maintains high-touch relationships with a diverse candidate pool, ensuring a pipeline of talent is available for future openings.
- Works with hiring managers and HR staff during the offer process, recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other offer details.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies, throughout the hiring process.
- Represents Overture at job fairs and recruiting events.
- Actively manages job postings on current sites and collaborates with Marketing for social media recruitment efforts.
- Stays informed on recruiting trends and best practices.
- Manages the temporary labor process, partnering with agencies to fill short-term or temp-to-hire talent.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities with effective negotiation skills.
- Skilled in developing and executing sourcing strategies for diverse roles.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative.
- Strong time management skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines.
- Knowledgeable about employment laws, regulations, and best practices in hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with applicant tracking systems or able to quickly learn new recruitment software.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of recruiting experience required.
