About Momofuku Noodle Bar Uptown

Founded by Chef David Chang, Momofuku Noodle Bar first opened in New York City's East Village in 2004. At this second location in The Shops at Columbus Circle, the menu includes ramen, buns, and a roster of dishes that change with the seasons. It also features a full bar.

Momofuku Servers are the representative of the restaurant to guests.Servers are responsible for guiding guests through the Momofuku experience.Momofuku Servers are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards and values in a busy, fast paced environment.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour, plus applicable tips

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and guide guest's complete restaurant experience
  • Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, and energetic service at all times
  • Maintain full menu knowledge for both food and beverage items, including all allergen information
  • Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
  • Utilize the POS system correctly for order entry and payment processing
  • Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc.
  • Stock and prepare service related items
  • Maintain professional and warm guest communications
  • Recognize key people in the industry, VIP guests and contacts related to the company and follow company protocol related to their visit
  • Communicate respectfully and clearly with service team and management
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
  • Engage management for any escalated guest situations
  • Adhere to Momofuku's Cleaning and sanitation SOPs
  • Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by manager
  • Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
  • Assist teammates to anticipate all other FOH needs

Required Qualifications
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude, as well as a desire to learn, grow, and develop new skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest conflict
  • Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team
  • Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a Server, Captain, or related role in a restaurant with a comparable service style and/or cuisine
  • Ability to train new Servers in all aspects and responsibilities of the role
  • A proven track record of dependability and a continuous focus on learning and development

Physical Demands
  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 5 to 10 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
