If so, the Geographic Data Services Bureau at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is recruiting for two GIS and Natural Resources Analysts. These positions are unique opportunities for GIS professionals with a passion for Montana’s fish, wildlife and recreational resources who want to use their experience and skills to benefit a fish and wildlife agency. The successful applicant will have experience with, and be interested in fish, wildlife and recreational resources in Montana and share a commitment to FWP'sVision and Mission. FWP uses the Esri suite including ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online tools including Experience Builder, Field Maps, and Survey123. The ideal candidate has experience with these technologies as well as being analytical, detail oriented, creative, possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and excellent people skills. These positions require time management skills, the ability to collaborate successfully in a team, work independently on multiple priorities, and communicate with diverse groups of people. You must be able to clearly communicate concepts related to fisheries and wildlife science as well as GIS, data, and database concepts to individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds. On occasion, there may be opportunity to participate in field work requiring physical exertion and possibly under adverse weather conditions. Job Duties (narrative summary): A typical day in this position might include planning and managing statewide GIS data and services, developing official map publications, data analysis, map production, mapping application development assistance, technical support/outreach, and cross-division and cross-agency collaboration and support. Requirements: · A minimum of four (4) years of relevant GIS work experience (excluding internships and TA or lab assistant positions) managing natural resources or fish and wildlife spatial data · Experience creating compelling digital and hard copy map products · Spatial data management experience including implementing spatial analysis and GIS workflows · Working knowledge of Python and SQL · Advanced experience with Esri products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey 123, Dashboards and Experience Builder Required application materials: · Detailed resume · Cover letter explaining how your work experience, education and career goals make you the ideal candidate for this position.
