Department Overview: The TD Securities Chief Data Office (TDS-CDO) aims to operate, organize, govern and monetize TDS data assets. This is achieved through four strategic pillars: Make Data Accessible Secure & Govern Data Create Tools & Enable Others to Use Them Derive Value from Data In doing so, the TDS-CDO enables the dealer with a focus on: Grow: Service clients, monetize data & allocate resources Protect: Manage Risk & Regulatory Compliance Standardize: Achieve technology & operational efficiencies Develop: Data Driven Culture Role Details: Reporting to Director & Senior Manager, Data Management in the Chief Data Office, the Data Management Analyst will be responsible to support the implementation of data management and related data control execution activities for TD Securities. Job Accountabilities: Provides expertise and executes on Data Management & Data Controls activities. Be knowledgeable of data management practices and procedures within modern data platforms and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area. Assist and help drive the automation of the Data management practices including metadata, data lineage, authoritative sources, data usage, data quality rules, etc. Be knowledgeable and having working knowledge of data management tools in relation to metadata, lineage, data quality, etc. (e.g.: Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Unity Catalog, etc.) Advises and consults with projects related to implementation of data management practices during system development (data impact analysis, quality controls, data lineage, etc.) Assist internal stakeholders and team members to monitor, measure, analyze, execute, track and report data quality issues Coordinate relevant processes /meetings /events that impact the TDS-CDO's practices. Understand department objectives and contribute by recommending appropriate action to management based on analysis and review of results within assigned scope Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist Acquire and apply expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate. Education/Accreditations: Undergraduate degree or technical certificate 4 years relevant experience Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience: Solid knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards &strategy Solid knowledge of Capital Markets data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques Skill in using computer applications including MS Office, Sharepoint and ServiceNow Good communicator with strong written and oral communication skills as well as experience presenting at the leadership level Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines Ability to handle confidential information with discretion The Senior Analyst Project Delivery - TDS will support the end-to-end delivery of the project's deliverables involving high complexity and many cross-functional and stakeholder dependencies. Depth & Scope: Supports the Change Delivery Leadership/Management in managing a diverse range of stakeholders to meet program requirements and project objectives. Major stakeholders include: Trading Business Management (TBM), Market Risk and Model Development (PnL, Risk, VaR), Market Risk Control, Operations/Data Services, Front Office, Technology and Compliance Provides leadership to technology and business partners to turn requirements into delivery with analyses and recommendations for solutions that meet business objectives with in a timely and cost-effective manner Provides timely updates on project status, analysis and findings to senior management and various stakeholders Conducts ongoing oversight and review to ensure effective implementation of Change Delivery initiatives and risk reporting infrastructure through requirement building and stream planning Provides support to management by leading stakeholder management activities and communication through stream deliverables Provides direction and support to active stream deliverables through engagement with strategic partners Provides broad range of admin support and coordination on project related activities/tasks for a project Prepares project dashboards for various project meetings and Committees Provides support in project financials, including monthly review of project charges, variance analysis, updating program forecasts into Enterprise project tool and other tasks that may require analysis and reporting at project/program level Understands and manages cross-stream interdependencies Assists the Program Delivery Lead with tracking project tasks, dependencies, and requirement gaps (ensuring traction and resolution on all items) Identifies and escalates issues to the appropriate individual(s)/group(s) to ensure prompt attention/resolution Ensures all infrastructure build activities are supported by adequate documentation Education & Experience: University degree required 5 years of relevant experience PMI or PMP certification an asset CFA or FRM designation an asset Familiarity with market risk, valuation, and/or operational concepts obtained through previous experience in a capital markets function Intermediates to high level understanding of financial products and models Advanced in Excel data manipulation skills (ability to derive findings/conclusions from large datasets and trouble-shoot errors) Superior organizational skills (must be able to identify and track project dependencies & blockers, ensure proper resolution of outstanding items, document meeting minutes and takeaways in a clear and concise manner) Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and obtain clarifications as necessary when discussing requirements Superior organizational skills (must be able to identify and track project dependencies & blockers, ensure proper resolution of outstanding items, document meeting minutes and takeaways in a clear and concise manner) Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks and manage time effectively Flexible to be able to adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous or changing conditions Demonstrates abilities to make sound recommendations for business decisions Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills Knowledge of IR Curves is considered a significant asset for the position Prior experience in organizational change management activities preferred Prior experience with delivering major regulatory programs and/or infrastructure implementations Who We Are TD Securities offers a wide range of capital markets products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients who choose us for our innovation, execution, and experience.
