Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for research, data collection, data collation, data entry, and basic analytical functions in support of the Office of Intelligence and Analytics' business objectives. The Research Analyst's work enables NICB staff, law enforcement agencies, and member companies to make more informed and timely decisions.

Work Arrangement and Description:

This is a hybrid position and the Reporting Location is NICB Headquarters (Oak Brook, IL). The individual will be provided with the privilege and flexibility to work away from NICB Headquarters, but will be required to report periodically in-person based upon business needs, subject to the discretion of their supervisor, and in compliance with NICB's rules and procedures.

Competencies/Duties:

  • Process alert documents and files 
  • Create alert supplementary files 
  • Track alert progress and document anomalies 
  • Ensure quality control measures are adhered to 
  • Provide support for analysts in creation and dissemination of work product 
  • Administer Mitchell Medical requests 
  • Administrate automated processes 
  • Perform data entry and non-analytical case support as necessary 
  • Source and Link significant entities from NICap 
  • Assist administration of Analyst Academies and other analytical trainings 
  • Print and ship analytical product requests 
  • Compile alert communications to NICB members 
  • Monitor data cleansing processes to ensure data integrity. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Work Experience, Licensure:

  • Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with large amounts of data in Excel and advanced database experience required, SQL and/or Access experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience conducting independent, data-based research preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct reports.

Salary Range and Statement:

This is a nonexempt position and the hourly rate range is $25.42 to $29.23 per hour which calculates to $49,572 to $57,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors including the specific requirements for this position, the candidate's geographic location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
