Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose issues: Identify mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools.
  • Repair and maintenance: Perform repairs on engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance, such as oil changes and tire checks.
  • Safety checks: Ensure forklifts meet safety standards by testing and calibrating equipment.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of all repairs, services, and inspections.
  • Parts management: Order and manage inventory of necessary parts for repairs.
  • Training: Train forklift operators on proper use and basic maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work with other mechanics and maintenance personnel to resolve complex issues.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to perform precise and accurate repairs.
  • Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
  • Certification: Certifications like ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or CFT (Certified Forklift Technician) are often preferred12.
Work Environment:
  • Industrial setting: Often involves working in warehouses, manufacturing plants, or distribution centers.
  • Safety gear: Required to wear protective equipment and follow safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
