The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned area to ensure the safety and protection of guests, employees and company property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patrols assigned area and assists guests and employees as needed, both walking patrol and mobile patrol using company vehicle.
  • Examines doors, windows, gates, etc. to ensure that these are secure.
  • Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest and employee conduct on the premises.
  • Documents infractions and advises management where appropriate.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, unlocked security doors, etc.
  • Responds to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.; investigates and completes reports concerning the same.
  • During serious emergencies, may be assigned to assist in the evacuation of the facility.
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
  • Escorts casino employees during pit drops, slot drops, jackpot verifications, fill verifications, pit fills/credits, etc. Transport chips, currency/ coin and tokens to the different requesting tables/ booths.
  • Accepts logs and stores all lost and found articles.
  • Apprehends (where appropriate) individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities.
  • Attends and provides testimony in court when required.
  • Enforces state gaming laws and regulations including (but not necessarily limited to) the identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor.
  • Responds to verbal and/or physical altercations throughout the property and applies appropriate measures to resolve the situation.
  • For physical altercations, employs the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain any and all involved.
  • Initiates formal eviction of disorderly persons when directed by a supervisor.
  • Responds to requests for medical assistance when required and renders first responder type first aid consistent with company policy and the individual officer’s skill level and medical certification.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum one year of security experience, preferably in the gaming industry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Nevada Gaming Control Board registration.

Alcohol Awareness Certification

Driver License

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.
