We are seeking a dedicated and skilled phlebotomist to join our team. The primary role of the phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations.
Responsibilities- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
- Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the process of venipuncture, blood drawing, and other specimen collections (e.g., urine, fecal) in a clear and courteous manner.
- Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
- Fully understand all physicians' orders.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Store specimen samples according to required temperatures.
- Venipuncture
- Phlebotomist certification
- Customer service skills
- Experience with hard sticks
- Certification in Maryland
- 6 months to 1 year of experience (more experience preferred)
- Strong customer service skills
- Relevant certification
The position is based in a specialty center focusing on arthritis and pain management. The phlebotomist will see around 300 patients a month and may occasionally assist at another location that sees 1500 patients a month.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00

This is a fully onsite position in Clinton,MD.
