Wisestaff LLC is Hiring Experienced Phlebotomists


Wisestaff LLC is seeking skilled Phlebotomists to provide exceptional support services at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA. VA Bedford has 338 total operational beds, including 224 skilled nursing home beds and provides outstanding health care, trains future health care providers, and conducts important medical research for Veterans in Middlesex and Essex counties in Massachusetts.


The contractor may be required to provide services during the following times:


Dayshift:

6:00A-2:30P

6:30A-3:00P

7:00A-3:30P

7:30A-4:00P

8:00A-4:30P

8:30A-5:00P

9:00A-5:30P

9:30A-6:00P


Phlebotomists may also be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. However, on call or standby duties will NOT be required. Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes directed by the VA or Wisestaff LLC is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood collection and specimen collection for laboratory testing.
  • Log and manage samples in VA and DoD laboratory information systems.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients on proper sample collection procedures.
  • Ensure safe transport and handling of specimens.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Perform clerical duties, maintain accurate records, and manage supplies.
Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, AMT, or AMCA) and AHA CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in blood collection techniques, familiarity with laboratory information systems (e.g., Vista LIS), excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the physical ability to perform phlebotomy tasks.
