Role Overview
Phlebotomists are responsible for collecting blood samples from patients with care, precision, and empathy. This role is vital for patient diagnostics and involves interaction with both adult and pediatric patients. Phlebotomists are expected to ensure patient comfort and address any questions or concerns during the collection process.

Key Responsibilities

• Use technical equipment to draw blood safely and efficiently.
• Clearly explain the blood draw process to patients to ease any anxiety or confusion.
• Calm and reassure patients, especially those who may feel nervous about the procedure.
• Apply proper dressings to the site after blood collection.
• Register and store blood samples in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
• Send blood samples to testing labs and track sample status and results.
• Update and maintain patient records accurately.
• Keep workspaces clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Answer questions related to the collection techniques and provide additional resources as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary, and heel stick techniques.
• Experience in phlebotomy for both pediatric and adult patients is required.
