We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II who will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating equipment, and updating patient information. The Phlebotomist II will collect and store specimens according to established procedures while explaining the process to patients in a clear and courteous manner. The role requires a thorough understanding of physicians' orders and the ability to match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

The Phlebotomist II will collect and store specimens according to established procedures while explaining the process to patients in a clear and courteous manner. The role requires a thorough understanding of physicians' orders and the ability to match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Collect and store specimens such as blood, urine, or fecal samples according to established procedures.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport while maintaining the integrity of the specimen.
- Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place them in appropriate collection containers/tubes.
- Attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
- Phlebotomy certification (as required by the state of employment).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
