Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm. No weekend or holiday commitment).

How You Will Make an Impact: The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist provides essential support to both healthcare providers and patients; often the first point of contact for patients, contributing to a positive and reassuring patient experience. This role directly contributes to patient care by measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with minor medical procedures, which enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery, creating a smoother and more patient-centric fertility journey.

What You Will Do: The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for the daily management of patients through administrative and clinical tasks to support the smooth operation of the Care Centers, Surgery Centers, and Laboratories. This position will coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide the essential services needed. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist reports directly to the Office Manager.

  • Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Track patient workup status to ensure current pre-conceptual labs, communicable testing, pap smear, annual exam, and mammogram (if applicable) have been completed. Follow up with patient regarding any missing consents/medical reports/lab workup.
  • Send abnormal labs to RN to review with physician.
  • Transcribe, enter and verify data from source documents into the electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Fax patient prescriptions and prescription refills as directed by RN.
  • Perform chart audits for weekly ART meeting, confirming with RN that all treatment care plans are complete and accurate.
  • Monitor nurse team flags for nurses on team and facilitate flag completion as needed.
  • Route patient questions, problems, complaints, and concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Order and schedule lab tests as directed; review results and annotate appropriate disposition.
  • Order prescriptions/refills for patients prior to procedure; notify patient upon completion.
  • Monitor medicine cabinet/refrigerator and order medications, as needed.
  • Maintain HIPAA and Confidentiality for all patient and clinic information, HIV confidentiality.
  • Understand and assess potential domestic violence and child abuse issues and report concerns to Medical Director or Practice Administrator. Follow proper specimen collection procedures, including patient preparation and venipuncture, specimen labeling, handling, processing and preparation, transportation and storage of specimens.
  • Phlebotomy responsibilities:
    • Verify patient ID and information.
    • Perform blood draws on patients.
    • Accurate patient information and labeling of sample.
    • Prepare specimens for send out to various reference laboratories.
    • Process and track all send out tests to/from reference laboratories.
    • Generate billing information for requested laboratory testing, if needed.
    • Route billing information to insurance company when indicated.
    • Collect payment from patients if needed..
    • Responsible for review of any highly unusual or critical results and notify nurse and/or physician.
    • Perform and document daily quality control/quality assurance activities.
    • Perform and document preventative maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures for tests performed.
    • Participate in proficiency testing.
    • Comply with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
    • Attend annual OSHA inservice.
    • Adhere to quality control policies and document all quality control activities.
    • Perform and document housekeeping tasks involved in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
    • Maintain adequate inventory and supplies.
    • Review invoices for accuracy from all vendors and send to Office Manager for processing.
    • Participate in continuing education as needed.

What You Bring:

High School Diploma Required.

    • Medical Assistant (MA) certification/diploma preferred.
    • BCLS certification required.
    • Phlebotomy certification required.
    • 2+ years phlebotomy experience required.
    • A minimum of two hundred (200) successful blood draws is required (with documentation)

    • CCRM’s Compensation: The salary range represents the national average compensation for this position. The base salary offered will vary based on location, experience, skills, and knowledge. The pay range does not reflect the total compensation package. Our rewards may include an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and many other region-specific benefits.
