We are looking for a part-time Phlebotomist at Bedrock Recovery in Canton, Massachusetts.

Schedule: Part Time (Mornings - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays)

Salary: $24 per hour

Job Summary: The Phlebotomist draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients and charts before drawing blood
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures
  • Explain blood drawing procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
  • Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas
  • Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes
  • Verify patient information and labeling blood samples properly
  • Accurately updating patient information in the organization's database
  • Help nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
  • Work with supervising Physicians and following their directions at all times
  • Prepare specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.

Experience:

  • Skillful and precise in performing venipunctures and capillary punctures; collecting, preparing, and storing blood samples; and verifying medical records.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • 3+ years experience, inpatient- PREFERRED
  • Phlebotomy Certification
  • Computer efficiency
  • Previous experience working with an Electronic Health Record
