Independent Contractor Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Independent Contractor Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our mobile lab team. As a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient collection of patient samples for laboratory testing. Your primary responsibilities will include performing phlebotomy procedures, assisting with various medical procedures, ensuring specimen integrity, maintaining accurate records, and delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
Conduct phlebotomy procedures to collect blood and other samples from patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Perform medical assistant duties, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and providing basic medical support as required
Adhere to strict protocols and safety standards to ensure the integrity and quality of collected samples
Accurately label and record patient information, maintaining comprehensive and organized documentation
Safely transport collected samples to the laboratory for testing, following appropriate handling and transportation guidelines
Maintain inventory of necessary supplies and ensure stock levels are adequate for daily operations
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff to ensure seamless coordination and communication
Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and ethical guidelines
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and inquiries with empathy and professionalism
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist, preferably in a mobile or clinical setting
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification is required
Proficient in performing phlebotomy procedures and handling various medical equipment and supplies
Solid understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and establish rapport with patients
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various locations as per the mobile lab schedule
Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate patients' needs
