Customer Service Representative

Summary:

As a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at EBN Industrial Supply, a division of Bostwick-Braun, you will manage inbound customer calls, introduce new products and promotions, and handle inquiries related to a wide range of industrial items including fasteners, tooling, safety gear, and abrasives. Your role involves resolving basic issues, communicating solutions, and referring more complex needs to appropriate departments. You will utilize a customer relationship database to track activities and research product information, reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage calls from customers and Industrial Sales Representatives with professionalism.
  • Identify and address customer needs and sales opportunities through consultative selling.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, sales, warehouse, accounting, and management to resolve issues and provide updates.
  • Process credit memos for various adjustments and handle inquiries about back-ordered items.
  • Expedite or cancel merchandise shipments as needed.
  • Handle requests for invoice copies, catalogs, price lists, and other documents.
  • Inform customers about shipment delays or changes in delivery schedules.
  • Assist with peak workloads and staff absences.
  • Respond promptly to potential customer inquiries, providing relevant information via email or other channels.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's product offerings and demonstrate product features to customers.
  • Stay informed about competitor products and identify opportunities to effectively position the company’s offerings.
  • Upsell products and services to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in customer service roles.
  • Preferred knowledge of fasteners, MRO, safety equipment, and tooling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
