Job Description
This role will oversee the financial operations of our corporate entities, development entities and HOA entities. This tole entails managing accounting functions, supervising fixed asset modules, and ensuring efficient treasury operations.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the corporate accounting team, directing day-to-day activities, guiding month-end closing procedures, reviewing financial statements, and generating reports for management review.
• Oversee development entities activities, such as draws or funding requests, loans and interests schedule, deal management, and other development related activities. Prepare monthly development spend summary and reports.
• Manage fixed asset procedures for both corporate and property assets, overseeing acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation.
• Maintain HOA entity accounting records, tracking monthly expenses, and generating comprehensive reports as necessary.
• Monitor cash flow and treasury operations, executing internal and external transfers and wire transactions as necessary.
• Coordinate annual budgeting process. Deliver monthly internal Actual and Budget variance analysis.
• Conduct in-depth research on accounting matters to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Prepare audit schedules and collaborate with auditors during their inquiries.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to mitigate accounting and internal control risks.
• Work on multiple projects, with varying priority levels, and meeting the agreed upon schedules and objectives.
• Various ad-hoc assignments.
Desired Skills and Experience
• BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Work knowledge or experience of Yardi preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results. Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.
