We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team in the Hi Tech Engineering industry, located in CHESAPEAKE, Virginia. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing general accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, and providing support for audits and reporting requirements. This role is a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the migration and validation of data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices consistently, including coding, approval, and forwarding.
• Work in collaboration with our accounting team to resolve any issues with invoices.
• Coordinate with purchasing groups and manage filing and expense report reviews.
• Execute journal entries and carry out accounts receivable tasks.
• Conduct time and labor reporting.
• Provide essential support for audits and annual reporting requirements.
• Perform routine accounting functions on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Collaborate with team members and provide assistance as needed.• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the Hi Tech Engineering industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in account reconciliation
• Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in data entry and invoice processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems
• Must be authorized to work in the country (no sponsorship provided)
• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.
