About the Role:

The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with policies, and effective fiscal management. This role involves supervising daily accounting operations, including inventory accounting, accounts payable, invoicing, and cost accounting. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for preparing financial statements, conducting variance analyses, and supporting budget planning while collaborating closely with senior management and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily accounting activities, including inventory management, accounts payable, collections, and financial reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly closings, journal entries, and inventory valuation analysis.
  • Analyze cost data and profitability, providing financial insights to management and other teams.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Coordinate internal audits, oversee inventory counts, and liaise with corporate and external auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, financial reporting, and product costing, with manufacturing experience required.
  • Advanced expertise in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements in financial operations.
  • Experience with tax compliance, financial audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • CPA certification or equivalent credentials preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience with ERP system conversions or major system upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or similar efficiency improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in training and mentoring accounting teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
