Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role involves leading a team of accountants, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a proven track record in financial management and experience with accounting for international subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Ledger Management: Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations. Optimize accounting processes by identifying opportunities for automation & efficiency by ensuring all solutions are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, train, manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks, including but not limited to performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights to senior management.
  • Internal Controls: Assist the Senior Director to develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Audit Coordination: Assist in the coordination with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any inquiries.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance across all accounting practices.
  • System Management: Collaborate with IT to enhance and maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring efficient processes and data integrity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with internal controls and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, analysis methodologies and technical standards applicable to corporate accounting and finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills including the ability to develop relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
