Position Overview and Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in supporting Wordibly & Focus Forward's financial operations by managing invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and various accounting tasks. This position collaborates with the Director of Accounting and other team members to maintain accurate financial records and streamline administrative tasks across both companies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Invoicing and Collections: Prepare and send invoices to clients, process collections, and address any billing issues promptly.
  • Payment Processing: Accurately process ACH and incentive payments, as well as vendor payments, and handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
  • Reconciliations: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts, and balance sheets to maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Data Entry and Recordkeeping: Organize and manage financial records, ensuring easy access to an organized filing system for financial documentation.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general accounting and clerical support to the finance team, contributing to month-end close activities as needed.

This is a part-time, hybrid role (1 day per month in the office), with hours varying between 20 to 30 hours per week. The schedule typically requires increased availability during the first two weeks of each month. The hours of this role will be the following: Monday through Friday from 9am-2pm EST.


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Preferably, a four-year degree in Accounting. Relevant work experience will be considered in place of formal education. Real-world accounting experience, particularly with QuickBooks Online, is essential.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. Thorough understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation:

$25-$35 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
