Overview
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of the accounting team, manages day-to-day accounting processes and activities, month end close completion, the financial operations including general ledger entry, overseeing balance sheet reconciliation, monitoring cash functions, and yearly taxes, 571L filings.
This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible position in Berkeley.

Benefits

Responsibilities- Ensures the accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Maintains integrity of general ledger and account reconciliations.
- Ensures the monthly journal entries are accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Prepares monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
- Oversees the accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including but not limited to accruals, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Maintenances the chart of accounts and ensure the accounts are mapped in ERP system.
- Assists with new user setup in ERP system, Coupa system, and online banking.
- Oversees the reconciliation of all deposits, and cashes, investigates any discrepancies or problems.
- Works with the Deputy Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
- Provides training and mentoring to accounting staff as needed to ensure their knowledge is expanded and they are exposed to more challenging transactions.
- Displays excellent customer services and acts as a resource while working closely with billing department, payroll, human resources, procurement, grant accounting, and others within the organization.
- Identifies and resolves accounting and internal control issues in a timely manner.
- Supports Deputy Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Preparation of yearly federal, state, local tax filings, 571L, and others.
- Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- BA degree, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years accounting experience, and 2 years of supervision.
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, calculate numbers and post to records.
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Advance in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in Non-Profit/Community Health Centers highly desired.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
