Accounting Manager/Supervisor Job at Robert Half in Houston

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking an experienced, dedicated Accounting Manager for our construction industry client. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy workplace environment and is well-versed in aspects of accounting for a mid to large-sized company.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Oversee and manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Manage the monthly and year-end close procedures including the preparation of financial statements and other reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and review.
• Manage all aspects of financial reporting and assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Handle adherence to tax laws and regulatory compliance to properly reflect the financial position of the company.
• Oversee the financial and accounting system and operational strategies including teaming with various departments to enhance and better deploy reports, procedures, and systems.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

WHO WILL BE CONSIDERED

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance required.
• Minimum of 7 years of work experience, ideally with some experience in a construction or project accounting setting.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency with accounting software, MS Excel, and other relevant tools.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and great problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
