Yext is seeking a strategic and operational Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to oversee global accounting, finance operations, and external reporting teams. The CAO will be a key partner to the CFO and executive team, responsible for the full accounting and reporting functions. As Yext grows, including international expansion and M&A activities, the CAO will take on additional responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Lead global accounting operations, including payroll, billing, collections, procurement, AP, technical accounting, revenue accounting, international accounting, and SEC reporting.
- Oversee and modernize systems and processes to stay ahead of technological advancements.
- Scale business processes, systems, and financial controls to support future growth, focusing on continuous improvement and automation.
- Drive efficiencies in accounting operations, focusing on process improvement and shortened close cycles. Implement best-in-class solutions to improve processes, quality, and productivity.
- Manage the accounting budget, balancing internal and external spend, and innovating finance service delivery.
- Create a strategic vision for finance and accounting to support Yext's business objectives.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team, attracting, growing and retaining top talent.
- Align accounting team priorities with company objectives, providing advanced service and value.
- Serve on the finance leadership team, collaborating with the CFO and other leaders on functional and people priorities.
- Serve on the extended leadership team and develop relationships with senior leaders to support new customer products, company-wide initiatives and business/system process changes.
- Lead Audit Committee meetings and support other Board of Director meetings.
- Demonstrate urgency in meeting targets, benchmarking team performance, and achieving goals.
- Align individual performance measures with organizational goals.
- Build relationships to help others achieve their objectives.
- Promote a culture of accountability.
What You Have
- Public company experience at companies with $2B+ market cap.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, beginning in a Big Four public accounting firm. Recent experience as a CAO in a fast-growing public company of similar size and complexity.
- Public company/SEC reporting and SOX compliance experience required.
- Experience scaling and improving processes, systems, and teams during periods of change.
- Experience in global businesses, with the ability to build a cohesive approach worldwide.
- M&A experience.
- Experience building and developing high-performing teams, with a track record of attracting and retaining top talent.
- CPA and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Preferred: Experience with SaaS.
