ALAMOSA COUNTY, Finance Department, Accounting Assistant

REPORTS TO: Controller
FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt
SALARY:  $20.00-$23.00/hour DOE
DATE ADOPTED: November, 2024
CLOSE DATE: December 6, 2024

JOB SUMMARY:

In this position you will be responsible for assisting and supporting senior members of the finance team.  Common responsibilities include tracking and recording transactions, processing payables/receivables, invoicing, contributing to financial statement preparation, quality control and accuracy checks.  This position is 22.5 hours a week and offers flexibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Any accounting education and previous accounting experience preferred
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License required.

Position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment at efficient speed. The position is required to walk, stand, sit for long periods of time, talk and hear. Hearing and vision correctable to normal ranges; close-up vision and the ability to adjust focus across an audience.  Occasionally, the position may stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, carry, twist and push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.  The employee is required to communicate both orally and in writing. Employee must be able to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls, drive, and lift up to 30 pounds. The noise level may be very quiet to noisy depending on the situation.
