Job Overview

The AccountingClerk/Bookkeeper will be responsible for performing routine clerical tasks, including processing, and recording transactions, filing, and other duties, as needed.
To be successful in this role, one should be have an understanding of basic Accounting principles and proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel. One should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the department
  • Performs basic office tasks, i.e. filing, data entry, processing the mail (incoming and outgoing, etc.)
  • Prepares and issuing purchase orders, sales orders, and agreements
  • Prepares requisitions for management approval
  • Tracks orders to ensure timely delivery; receives incoming deliveries, compares packing slips to PO; delivers to appropriate person/department
  • Maintains accurate inventory and procurement records; generates reports as needed
  • Vendor correspondence
  • Identifies prospective suppliers/vendors, requests quotes, negotiates best pricing, purchase terms and conditions; ensures timely deliveries; resolves supply issues or discrepancies
  • Complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Performs all other duties as necessary or assigned

  • Knowledge of general accounting practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  • Associate degree in related field with experience as an Accounting Assistant t or a similar role preferred
  • Familiarity with basic Accounting principles
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
  • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately

Working Conditions

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
