Cost Accounting Analyst
Job Description
This positions will be managing the cost of the projects and assisting in purchasing activities to support the procurement team. They will be working on projects ranging from $15 milling to $150 Million ranging from construction and engineering services, materials and any additional goods/services needs related to the development of renewable energy projects (primarily solar and wind farms). The cost will be tracked and assist w/ the forecasting of these projects, in addition to performing variance analysis.
Responsibilities
Managing the project cost, assisting w/ forecasting and budgeting for each individual projects.
Building and managing reports to ensure the project is within the scope and spend. Supporting the procurement team obtain material, labor, ect.
Creating/formulating requests for proposal/quotations/information, bid analysis, tenders, and risk evaluations.
Administers and leads cross-functional teams through the competitive bidding process, directs supplier negotiations, evaluates and selects suppliers in accordance with company policies.
Evaluates and selects suppliers based on their ability to provide the goods/services and at costs consistent budgetary expectations.
Participates in the negotiation of construction contracts to minimize operational, legal and financial risks. Collaborates with both internal and external legal counsel, as applicable.
Tracks material/service costs and supplier performance using approved metrics and tools. Analyzes trends and makes corresponding sourcing decisions.
Leads and/or participates in meetings with suppliers to rectify issues and to ensure suppliers are capable of meeting and are aware of the requirements and expectations.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Hard Skills
+ 2+ years of Cost Accounting experience within manufacturing, construction, or renewable industry
+ 1+ year minimum experience in procurement or purchasing (Construction, renewables, utility, power plant industries)
+ Managing cost for projects from budgeting to actuals
+ Proficient to expert level experience with MS Excel and data analysis
