Remote Fractional Accounting Manager/Controller - Premium Wine Brand
Our client, a premium wine brand, is seeking a remote, part-time Accounting Manager/Controller. This role will oversee all aspects of financial management for the company, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This role will work closely with the CEO and COO to provide strategic financial insights and ensure the integrity of financial operations within the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial principles, strong leadership abilities, and experience in the CPG industry. Knowledge and experience of the beverage alcohol or wine industries is a plus.
Fractional Accounting Manager/Controller
Hours/Schedule: Estimate approx. 15-20 hours per week
Location: U.S. (Ideally based in NYC, Tristate Area, or Los Angeles)
Compensation: $40-100/hr DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles and other regulatory requirements. Provide in-depth analysis and reporting on financial performance, variances, and key performance indicators.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Collaborate with department heads to monitor budgets and provide insights for cost control.
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with the executive team to provide financial insights that drive business strategy and decision-making. Participate in strategic planning and support business growth initiatives.
- Financial Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and financial software to streamline processes and improve reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Prior experience in accounting or finance; experience in the wine or beverage industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- An ability to work with foreign partners and in a business that operates on International hours.
