This role As the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting, you will play a critical role in leading and managing all aspects of revenue accounting. You will ensure that our revenue recognition policies align with both U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards and develop scalable revenue accounting processes as our business continues to expand. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence and drive key accounting policies and reporting processes within a fast-growing, tech-forward company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Legal, Product, and Operations, to support strategic initiatives and ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting. The ideal candidate for the Senior Director of Revenue Accounting role will have a blend of deep technical expertise in revenue recognition with a strategic, big-picture mindset. They are proactive, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. An effective leader, they possess excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners. This individual will have a demonstrated history of building scalable accounting processes, balancing compliance with innovation, and delivering clear, actionable insights that drive business growth. Responsibilities Lead, develop, and manage the Revenue Accounting team, overseeing the end-to-end revenue recognition process in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with Product and Business teams on new offerings, ensuring revenue recognition policies and processes align with company goals and regulatory requirements. Drive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for revenue, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition, account reconciliations, and reporting. Oversee financial reporting and disclosures related to revenue, working closely with the external auditors to manage the audit process effectively. Provide actionable insights to support key business initiatives by analyzing revenue trends, forecasts, and other financial metrics. Partner with the FP&A team to provide revenue data for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Act as the primary point of contact for revenue accounting-related inquiries across the organization. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required. 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with a background in financial services or fintech highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of revenue recognition principles, particularly ASC 606, and proven experience implementing revenue accounting policies. Strong leadership skills with experience managing, mentoring, and building high-performing accounting teams. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels, translating complex accounting issues into clear, actionable recommendations. Desirable qualifications Experience with complex multinational operations. Strong Netsuite experience. Proven ability to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. Strong leadership or mentoring capabilities. Ability to adapt quickly to changing regulations and industry trends.
