Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Maestro: Craft and execute financial strategies that align with our growth objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Reporting Virtuoso: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, from monthly to annual, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Risk Wrangler: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including those pesky tax, currency, and regulatory compliance challenges.
- Internal Control Maestro: Establish and maintain a fortress of internal controls to protect company assets and stay on the right side of the regulatory line.
- Team Leader Extraordinaire: Provide guidance and direction to the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Audit and Compliance Conductor: Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Tax Planning Maestro: Work hand in hand with tax advisors to develop tax strategies that optimize our tax position while staying on the straight and narrow of the law.
- Process Improviser: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Cross-functional Collaborator: Work closely with other departments to support business initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Professional Development Guru: Stay up to date with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, and ensure ongoing professional development for yourself and the accounting team.
Qualifications:
- CPA Certification: Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with active licensure.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. Prior experience in manufacturing and/or construction industries is highly desirable.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of effectively leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall business strategy.
