Here's what you will be doing:
- Performs accurate and timely accumulation, analysis and reporting of accounting and financial data as assigned by management, with the primary focus on loan portfolio and asset quality related functions.
- Prepares and analyzes specific Call Report schedules which may include Shares, Commitments, Uninsured Shares, Loans and Leases, REO, TDR, Business Lending, and Delinquencies.
- Prepares reports and reconciles fixed asset and prepaid ledgers which includes recording costs of newly acquired assets (tangible and intangible), tracking, depreciating/amortizing, and disposing of assets.
- Prepares fixed asset reports for quarterly Call Report, annual financial audit, and annual Business Property Statements. This includes tracking and paying property tax bills.
- Assists in month-end closing, including certain expense accruals associated with unique programs for credit reports, reward point liabilities, events, accounts payable, and other items.
- Assists in monitoring and maintaining Vendor Spend related to approved expenditures. This will include coordination and communication with management and staff.
- Monitors and maintains specific activity, control, and integrity of specific general ledger accounts as assigned. Maintains assigned general ledger account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provides telephone support to branches and departments regarding posting problems and questions encountered at the branch. Helps to resolve general ledger balancing issues.
- Manages accounting for MBP, GAP, and CLD programs.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of and complies with all Mission Fed, departmental and security policies, and procedures, as well as federal regulations applicable to the position, including BSA requirements. Completes all required compliance training as assigned.
- Continually monitors individual processes and looks for ways to create efficiencies using automation tools, BI reporting, and Power Apps.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent is required. Two years of equivalent experience can substitute for every one year of education.
- Experience: Minimum of eight years of related experience preferably within a financial institution is required. Extensive knowledge of accounting relationships within the balance sheet, accounting operations (GL processing), and business systems is required. Prior experience in analysis and reporting of criticized assets is required. Proficiency in financial reporting, GAAP and FASB policies, and advanced Excel skills are required.
- Software: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with advanced Excel skills is required. Knowledge and working experience with banking core systems, investment, MS Power BI and other miscellaneous software desired. Symitar and Black Knight MSP experience is a plus.
- Skills: Must have the ability to maintain highly confidential nature of accounting functions, and to work with other departments to communicate the needs of the accounting process and the interrelationships between the information collected and used by other departments. Must be detail oriented.

Base Pay/Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 a year
The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
